Early this year a friend of mine asked me if we could start a business with asterisk. Since I knew nothing about asterisk, and PBX in general, I did a lot of research. I found Trixbox, PIAF and Elastix. I tried them all and finally settled on Elastix 0.98. With my 20 years of programming experience and ZERO Linux experience, it took me 2 weeks to set up a working Elastix server with a Digium dual port PRI's card.

We are accepting over 30+ simultaneous calls on a production machine since July.

Every customers I talked to is amazed by what Elastix can do.

Keep up with the great work.

Start with "Elastix without tears". It's a great doco.

I have tried Digium, Rhino, Sagonma, X100P cards. My suggestion is to stay with Digium cards.

Just follow a2billing documentation. Sometimes you will need to read the php code to figure out the effect of each parameter.

You should at least know what agi is.

What is your calling card program?

Also when you guys grow in volume you will see that no professional instaal uses cards, we always use gateways, because of High Avalilabily and redundance that cards cant do.

I am not doing calling cards anymore due to high competition in the Toronto area. I was using A2Billing and had 2 DID's (46 channels) for incoming calls. The calls were then rounted via internet to the long distance providers.

The system showed no sign of stress at all. I was using a quad-core processor with 2G of RAM
