    I have call pickup enabled and it seems to be working fine if user 6000 calls 6001 - 6002 can pickup the call by dialing **6001 but if a call comes in and is directed to a ring group the function does not work the same. Can anyone help me understand why this is?

    Thanks

    I am not sure I understand the difference in *8 and the ** option... but when I dial *8 I just get a busy tone - the feature is enabled.

    The problem is that in extensions_additional.conf in [app-pickup] there is no entry for the pattern..

    Here is a small sample...

    exten => **6001,1,Pickup(6001)
    exten => **6001,n,Pickup(6001@from-internal)
    exten => **6001,n,Pickup(6001@from-did-direct)
    exten => **6001,n,Pickup(FMPR-6001)
    exten => **6001,n,Pickup(FMPR-6001@from-internal)
    exten => **6001,n,Pickup(FMPR-6001@from-did-direct)
    exten => **6001,n,Pickup(6400@from-internal)
    exten => **6001,n,Pickup(6402@from-internal)
    exten => **6001,n,Pickup(6407@from-internal)
    exten => **6001,n,Pickup(6409@from-internal)
    exten => **6001,n,Hangup

    What is missing is an entry like this...
    exten => **6001,n,Pickup(6402@ext-group)

    I have edited that file for one extension and verified this to be the case.. but I dont understand how to easily accommodate this functionality for future extensions and I dont want to change this file because bad things will happen if someone makes ui changes.

    Thoughts?

    This actually isnt a good fix because that would mean that it would pickup any call headed to the ring group so it may be slightly misleading in my above example. I am not sure there is a good way to do this because the call for ext 6001 is in the ext-group context so I am not sure how you get to the call on the extension.
