    Hi all,

We're looking to send out a fax to several of our customers.

The question is, how easy is it to convert a PDF to a fax, and send it to a bulk group (100 approx) of people?
Is HylaFax up to the task or should I be looking at AvantFax?
I tried to install AvantFax but get the following:
    [root@pbx etc]# yum install elastix-avantfax
    Loading "installonlyn" plugin
    Setting up Install Process
    Setting up repositories
    http://repo.elastix.org/centos/5/update ... repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 404: Not Found
    Trying other mirror.
Error: Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: elastix-extras

Also, is there anything that I should be aware of in terms of faxing out, settings? Presumably g711 for best quality (Not sure if it'll work with anything else).

Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated. I setup HylaFax on another box ages ago with a bit of success but IIRC it only sent 1-at-a-time... That would be a right pain for sending a fax to 100 people -- I want to hit a button and queue all 100-odd faxes

    Cheers

    Chill.

    Try with my avantfax script.

Avantfax lets you send to several destination numbers.
If you are going to use VoIP for outgoing faxes you need to use g711 or slin, but I'm not sure if you'll have problems. Using VoIP for faxing needs T.38, but I've done some tests with g.711 alaw and they went through.
You can queue the 100 faxes, but they will go out 1 at a time.
I think VoIP faxing is not very reliable unless you use T.38.
I can't tell you from my experience, I always use PSTN or ISDN for faxing.
