Billing for inbound calls - Helpdesk style?

Hi all,

I've got a customer who's got a dedicated line setup for Helpdesk calls.

What they're wanting to do is one of two things (Well potentially both even):
1) Bill customers for calls inbound on this local number
2) Give certain high-profile customers an Ext off their system (restricted with custom-contexts) and have all calls to a ring-group for example billed.

What they want to be able to do is match up the Incoming caller ID with a name preferably as well as the amount of time the call was going for. Sort of similar to the hotel module I suppose, but in reverse.

Is there any software out there for Elastix that will assist with this?

Cheers

Chill.

Anybody have any ideas around this?

Maybe an admixture of a2billing (for the inbound call rating) and a custom caller name lookup, into a database, which I assume they have (either directly using mysql or by derivation using an appropriate ODBC connector if necessary).

From the hover over mouse help:

Host:MySQL Host
Database: Database name
Query:Query, special token '[NUMBER]' will be replaced with caller number
e.g.: SELECT name FROM phonebook WHERE number LIKE '%[NUMBER]%'
Username:MySQL Username
Password:

That plus the inbuilt inbound routing would seem to cover all of that , no? although there would be some necessary "programming" to add the "preferred" CID'd into such a database, you could perhaps replace the generic a2billing rating with a similar mysql lookup into the asteriskcdr table on the UNIQUEID.

I suspect that Patrick might have some insight here.

I was wondering about contracting to a MySQL / PHP guru to write some such small application that pulled data from the CDR DB, but though I'd see if it'd been done before first ...

I was under the impression that A2Billing was for outbound only?

Appreciate the response mate :)

No, It swings both ways, you should contact them, Joe Roper is quite the dude albeit "English"

You can't of course get the call data until the call is over, but you could get the metadata (UNIQUEID) for post processing with deadagi, or a judicious cron job.
