auto-play recording on answer

    Hi

    I am trying to build out automation in outbound dialing

    My problem is that when I try to dial the exten, which in turn dials the number I want to dial, it doesn't play the message on answer.

    exten => 999,1,Dial(Zap/5/5555555)
    exten => 999,n,Answer
    exten => 999,n,Background(demo-congrats)


    The cell rings, but the message does not play

    I can get it to play with something like
    exten => 999,1,Dial(Zap/5/5555555,5,A(democongats))
    but this plays the sound as soon as the channel is opened to call, thus, the end user hears a message that is already in process.


    Any direction would be great.

    Yes, that is not the way,

    I will recommend you two things:

    1. Use the call center module

    2. Use a context that calls number, and then through AMI, redirect the current channel to another context that playbacks an audio
