Annoying callers and Telemarketers

Most Elastix admins probably know this but I just figured this out. I get way too many Telemarketers calling me and way too many calls from really annoying people. They clog my voicemail box and waste my time if I accidentally answer their calls. Today I realized that I could just create a inbound route for a Caller ID Number.

I just create an inbound route and put a phone number in the "Caller ID Number" cell, then check the CID Priority Route" box. Then you can do anything you want with the caller.

For people who are simply annoying I send them to "Terminate call: busy"

For Telemarketers I created the IVR from hell: 5 levels and the 5th level of the IVR goes back to the 1st level. They never get out of the IVR ha ha ha. For each level there is only one destination, no matter what number they press the call always goes to the same place, the next level of the IVR from hell.

I would suggest the 'CID Lookup Source' instead of CID number entry especially while you have the bulk telephone nunbers of telemarketers.
