    CLOSED --- RESOLVED

    Hello,

I am trying to make system recordings. On the system recordings page I enter my extension number then press go.. I dial *77 on my phone (cisco 7960 with firmware POS3-8-12) and just hear dead air:

I have tested other function codes and they are all working. *97, *65, *73 and 7777.

Feature codes *77 and *99 are enabled in the features page.

I changed *77 to *44 and the problem still exists.

I verified ownership of the /sounds/custom dir and they seem correct.

So I made the recording on another elastix box with the same cisco phone and and it worked great. Then I saved the recording to my desk top and tried to upload it to the problem box. I cannot upload recordings to the problem box either.

I tried all of the above in FreePBX also and it still does not work.

I currently have 7 elastix servers deployed with little or no problems.

This server is a Dell P4 3.0 GHz, 2 MB RAM, 500 GB 7000 RPM HD.

    Elastix version 1.6-12

this is a fresh install with all current updates as of today.

Thank you in advance for any help you might offer with this problem...

    Re:*77 (system recordings)

Hi bittermike, wellcome to the Elastix forum.
Have you had a look at the console or to the asterisk log into /var/log/asterisk/full? any errors there? Have you tried to increase debug level and verbosity level?

It might be a problem with permissions in /tmp dir, but you should see the exact problem in the logs.

In my case this occurred when I had custom-contexts enabled. Did you check that?

Thank you all for your help...

I began to have other odd problems with the installation so I reformatted and reinstalled.

Everything is right in my world now! (^_^)

    P.S. how do I close a thread??
