As part of the new features added into the latest version of Elastix powered by 3CX, you can find the 3CX Web Client. With this web client users can manage their calls, transfer calls, elevate a call to a conference and to initiate a web conference using the WebRTC technology on a single and modern user interface. The Web Client is optimized for open standard browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge.
With the integration of web conferencing into the web client, users can easily initiate a web conference directly from the client, without the need to install any additional clients or download plugins; making the process seamless and effortless. And most importantly, it’s clientless for remote participants of the web conference as well.
The Web Client gives you access to all the PBX features such as Presence, Video conferencing, Chat, Switchboard and also allows you to easily make calls from your IP Phone, desktop or smartphone.
The credentials to logging on the Web Client can be found in your welcome email, just click on the URL provided, enter your extension number and password. If you already have a desktop or smartphone client working you can resend your welcome email from your smartphone or desktop client or ask for it to the PBX administrator.
At the top right corner of the web client you will find key options:
- Search – Search for a colleague extension or contact
- Dial pad – trigger calls on your IP phone or softphone
- Set preferred device for making calls – IP phone, desktop or smartphone
- Status – set your presence and status message
- Account – Configure your extension options
To the left of the web client you can find the key functions of the PBX such as contacts, chat, call history, voicemail, webmeeting and more. The default page will show your colleagues presence and to call them just click on the icon over them.
