The beta version 0.8.4 of Elastix will be available for download starting tomorrow. Thanks to ideas and contributions from the community we have reduced the footprint of the software more than 100MB and further improvements are included. We have eliminated redundant services to improve performance of the distro and reduce the points of failure, making Elastix even more reliable. The new Asterisk 1.4.5 will be integrated which fixes many bugs from the previous versions. 

 

We are delighted to make Xen-based virtualization of Elastix available. This would allow integrators to offer hosted PBX services with Elastix at a lower cost!

 

 Russian language support has been added and some aspects of yum updating have been improved. 

 

In this version of Elastix we have launched our first Plug-In Module for Elastix. A Plug-In Module (PIM) is a software package that can be integrated into Elastix through the web interface. The first PIM will allow users to create outgoing campaigns and is still experimental. We hope that this PIM will provide the bases for community members interested in developing their own Plug-In Modules for Elastix.
