Acknowledgement in ElastixWorld

ElastixWorld is a technology event oriented to Open Source IP telephony. This event is the result of the work performed by PaloSanto Solutions and the Elastix project.

This work requires daily collaboration of developers, technicians, sales executives, resellers, Community Members and technology partners.

In this second edition of ElastixWorld, that takes place in Mexico, we want to give a special recognition to prominent collaborations this past year.

We have designated three categories in which we have selected the following actors:

- Best Partner: Neocenter
- Best member of the community: Bob Fryer
- Best Addon: FOP2

Best Partner

In this category we have selected the Mexican company Neocenter. Neocenter has performed tirelessly on the Elastix distribution and promotion in their country. Neocenter’s coordination and collaboration has been an important point in the development of this event.

Neocenter is a solutions integrator and distributor of popular brands of IP telephony. Since 2008 they have been a  partner of the Elastix project and began the process of certification and training in Mexico. In relation to the Elastix certification program, 27% of the Elastix Certified professionals have been trained on their classrooms. Neocenter was also part of the first edition of ElastixWorld.

Best Community Member

In this category we have selected Bob Fryer for his continued contribution to the project, which includes administration and support on Elastix forums, documentation and collaboration with other community members to develop projects. Bob will be present at ElastixWorld 2011 as a speaker where he will share their experiences of Elastix implementations in Australia.

Bob is a Systems Engineer with Bluepackets in Australia. With more than 29 years experience in the IT industry and a strong background in systems and data integration, Bob has been implementing Asterisk® Based IP telephony solutions since 2005, before embracing Elastix® as his product of choice in 2007. Bob is an Elastix® Certified Engineer, and also actively engaged as part of the Elastix® community in driving the direction of the Elastix® product and was awarded Elastix® Contributor of the Year in 2009. Bob runs the ElastixConnection Website and contributes to and writes various technical papers on Elastix® related topics, including contributing to the book “Unified Communications With Elastix Vol 1” and the “Elastix without Tears guide”.

Best Addon

In this category we have selected the solution FOP2 (Flash Operator Panel 2) which has had a great success in the Elastix Market Place, distributed previously to its official launch on the Elastix Add-ons module available from version 2.2. The person behind this project is Nicolas Gudino, who will participate as a speaker at elastixWorld 2011.

Nicolas Gudino has over 20 years of experience developing software in a variety of languages. Is one of the founders of “House Internet”, one of the first ISP in Argentina, where he gain experience with new technologies and begin to work with open source software. Nicolas discovered Asterisk® in 2004 and immediately began to contribute and develop software for the platform, releasing the first operator Web-based console for Asterisk® in April of that year. The Flash Operator Panel was quickly adopted by the entire community and has been included in virtually all distributions that have emerged since then. In June 2009 a revamped version of the popular operating panel was release: the FOP2, which won the "Community Achievement Award" from Digium. Nicolas has also developed other utilities like “Asternic Call Center Stats” and “Asternic CDR Reports”, both found in free and commercial versions.
