Today we are launching a new version,  Elastix 2.3.0 beta 2. This release includes some improvements such as upgrading Asterisk and CentOS among others.

In this new version of Elastix, the Addons module has a complete redesign, making it easier to visualize all of the third party applications available for download either on trial, free or paid.

Additionally, many important improvements in performance, design and usability have been made on all tables and reports throughout the web interface.

Another important update in the distro is that now the rpms that handle hardware drivers are not directly linked to a kernel so you can upgrade to any kernel without creating any kernel incompatibility problems, this is due to the use of weak updates.

Among the new features available in this beta are:
- Asterisk version updated to 1.8.8
- Centos version updated to 5.7
- New redesign of Addons module
- Fax Viewer module complete rewritten
- Email Accounts module improvement
- Support to add a sticky notes per user in every module
- Security module improvements
- Graphic Bugs fixes in Festival and Advanced Security Settings modules
