upgrading sugarcrm from 5.2 too 5.5 in Elastix 1.6 1 Year, 8 Months ago

All,
Followed the directions posted in this forum and can upgrade sugarcrm 5.2.
When I try to upgrade to sugarcrm 5.5, when the update wizard runs the system check it comes back and says I need at least version 5 of PHP.
I know that elastix/Freepbx is using/seeing PHP version 5.1.6
Any guesses where my problem is? I looked in the SugarWrapper.php file and found nothing.

Did you ever get this resolved?
I want to migrate a 5.5.1 SugarCRM CE installation on to my elastix box but I went through the upgrade cycle just to check elastix would run sugarcrm 5.5.1. As you say, it bugs out with this strange error.
