TOPIC: Chef-secretary scenario
#55921
Chef-secretary scenario 1 Year, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
We are Running Elastix 1.6.12.
Our Phones are Linksys SPA942.

What we need is that the manager can decide whether he wants to get
calls or not. If not he must have the possibility to redirect all
incoming calls to his secretary. The secretary itself answers all calls
and decides if the call is important enough to disturb the manager. If
so she/he transfers the call to the manager. So the secretary can filter
the calls for the manager...

How can we realize that the Phone is always ringing if the secretary is calling the manager. Even the managers phone ist redirectet to the secretarys phone!

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

I tested this module and it is not so bad, but still not what I exactly need, because if this is activated, both phones are ringing.
If I acticvate the "Do not Disturb" Function on the managers phone, there comes a Busy Signal by Calling direct this Extension.

Maybe you have another solotions, that just allowed, that one special extension is always allowed to Call the Managers Phone?

Sorry, it's the only one I know, perhaps you missed:
.
.Note: this module send an alert info of type alert-group to ip phones, so we recommend to set up the boss' phone so its ring tone is silent or very quiet when receiving an alert info of type alert-group; this way, the boss won't be distracted by phone calls which are being processed by his or her secretary. Calls from the secretary to the boss will ring normally.
.

from the documentation?

Hi mightymaster,

Here's is my simple work around.

1. Setup a queue,
2. the boss and secretary may login to the queue
3. if the boss dont want to get any call and just let her secretary to pickup all calls, she's the only one who need to login into the queue and the boss just have to logout.

let me know if that helps you...

Regards,

Jessie

Hi there,

I figured it out how to realizethis issue.
The Problem was, that the Sip Phone (Cisco SPA942 % Cisco 7960)
save the Call Forward in the Phone, not in in the Asterisksystem.

In the Phone you have deaktivate "Vertical Service Activation Codes - Cfwd All Act Code:"
on the Phone Tab.

Now if you set up an CF bei Dialing the Feature Code /*72<Extension>, the forward was saved in the Database of Asterisk and if you Call this phone with a CF to the first phone, the CF will be ignored.

Successfully Tested with Elastix 1.6-12 and FreePBX 2.8.0.2.

Greetings MightyMaster

PS: The Boss/Secretary Module is a nice Module but in this case our customer didn't accent this solution.
