Elastix is an appliance software that integrates the best tools available for Asterisk-based PBXs into a single, easy-to-use interface. It also adds its own set of utilities and allows for the creation of third party modules to make it the best software package available for open source telephony.
The goals of Elastix are reliability, modularity and ease-of-use. These characteristics added to the strong reporting capabilities make it the best choice for implementing an Asterisk-based PBX.

The Elastix project is happy to announce that our first repository mirror server is ready to use. This server would allow users to have much faster updates and it would free traffic from the main server. To use this repos, all you need to do is copy this file in your Elastix servers to: /etc/yum.repos.d/elastix.repo. If you need support please read this thread in the forums.
We want to thank the University of Almería, specially to Paco Gil and Julio Gómez from the research team UALTech, for giving us the space in one of their servers and the bandwidth for this mirror. It is important to note that the server is located in RedIris network that integrates the universities of Spain, so they have fast Internet connection.
The UALTech group consists of researches from the Almería Univsersity with a technical profile that focus in new technologies such as security, network, GNU/Linux, free software, ip telephony, home automation, etc.. We invite you to visit their wiki where you can find interesting projects from students that are finishing their degree.
It is important to note that all this is possible thanks to Ramón Lozano (ramoncio) who made all the coordination to make this repositories available. If another member of the community would like to help the project with an additional mirror, please contact rbonifaz{at}elastix.org. The user base of Elastix has grown a more than our expectations so it is important to have a lot of mirror servers so everyone can have fastest updates.
