The Elastix Project has the honor to present Josiah Spackman from New Zealand (chilling_silence ) as the October 2009 community member of the month.

Josiah has been a member of the Elastix community since September 2008. Since then, he has became very active in the forums, specially in the Tips & Tricks forum where he has shared his knowledge with the community. For this reason he is now a contributor of the Elastix Blogs, where he already wrote two articles, one about Voice QoS , and the second one about G729 and ILBC codecs.

Thank you, Josiah, for your support, and congratulations for doing an excellent job.

Friday, 13 November 2009

The Elastix team is proud to announce the launching of the Elastix Oficial blog . In this blog you would find information related to events, technical documentation, and everything related to Elastix. People who write in the blog are well known members of our community that are willing to share their knowledge with the rest of us. Nevertheless, anyone who wishes to submit an article can do it.

If you have a tip or an experience you want to share with the community about Elastix in this blog, please submit your article to rbonifaz[at]elastix.org. Palosanto Solutions will analyze the articles and define which ones will be published. All articles must be released with the GNU/FDL license.

At this moment we have two versions of the blog, one in English and the other in Spanish .

In the English, we are starting with the following two articles:

  • The first article is about a cheap, fast and efficient way to implement QoS with Elastix . This article is written by Josiah Spackman (chilling_silence) from New Zealand.
  • The second article is about interoffice trunking with IAX . Thanks to Bob Fryer from Australia, learn how to connect two offices together using Elastix.

In the Spanish blog we start with an article related to Elastix and security written by Augusto Sepulveda from México

Elastix Training in Panama a Great Success!
Tuesday, 20 October 2009

Over the week of October 5-9, a whole new group of students received their ECE certification in Panama. The training was demanding but very rewarding. Participants from El Salvador, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Colombia interacted with the instructor and themselves to share field experiences in the world of VoIP in Latin America.

Although the training required a full agenda, there was enough time left to enjoy Panama and its surroundings. All of us who were part of this training are very proud of all the new Elastix certified engineers and look forward to hearing from their successful endeavors implementing Elastix in the future.

Next training available: Mendoza – Argentina .
