Its probably your CF -> IDE Adapter. They're super cheap (USD$5-ish), so I'd recommend trying another one and you're more likely to have better luck.

I am using both 16G SD card with USB card reader and 16G USB flash drives. Both worked great. I think I have tried 8G before and elastix complains there is not enough space, although it only uses abount 2G.

Actually I think that the Elastix team should release a beta of the CF version. A multiple-sized image would be great (1G, 2G, 4G).
PCEngines Alix boards are getting old soon, as the Atom goes more poweful and inexpensive.

I vote for that too!

And 8GB, 16GB because size matters!

I installed elastix 1.5X on Supermicro Dual Core ATOM 330 motherboard. The feature I like is that it comes with two ethernet ports (second for SIP Trunking) and a usb 2 socket on the motherboard. I used a 8GB pen drive and it worked perfect. The price is around $50 more than Intel ATOM 330 board. 32GB SSD SATA drives prices are not too expensive and is a better alternative to CF or USB drives.

Only problem is it's about the same price (In my country at least) to buy / build an Alix 6b2 as it is to build a system with the likes of an Intel D945GCLF2, or the Foxconn 45CS (Fanless) with 2GB Ram & a 160GB+ HDD ...

With that in mind, whilst it's nice to build a system for a specific architecture, surely it'd be better to do it for something like the Beagleboard which actually has some decent power (ARM CPU)

My 2c at least.

Re:SSD and CF 1 Month, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I'm trying to install Elastix 1.6 on a 8GB seagate st1.2 microdrive.
When I try to remove or make a partition I have this message:

Traceback (most recent call first):
File "usr/lib/anaconda/autoparty.py",
line 1231, in doAutoParttiion
for f in initial_free[drive]:
.....
...
..

How can I solve this problem ???
