TOPIC: Inter-Tel 8622 IP Phone
#65886
Inter-Tel 8622 IP Phone 2 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Ill be the first to admit I am a astrick newb, I apreicate any input you can provide.

We just got our astrick system its fresh out of the box we have the network information added and we have access to gui and the features. We have a bunch of Inter-Tel model 8622 (#550.8622) i was hoping to use with this system but I am unable to get the pbx to communicate with the phones. I have the phone on the network it is picking up the appropreiate ip information and i programmed the remote IPC IP address to match the ip address of the server and all i get on the phone is "LOCAL IP CARD ADDR INVALID".
I do not know if the phone is in "SIP mode" or not, so some information on how to check/adjust that would be helpful.
I have the UDP port changed to 5060 and the TCP port default of 5566 TFTP Server url is default.

Thank you in advance for any tips

Success! it mostly likely took way longer than it should have but here is how i made it work.

On the PBX
1) Click PBX
2) PBX Configuration
3) On the drop down select Generic Sip Device
4) Click Submit
5) Input the extension number you wish to assign (4 digits only, i tried 6 and it doesnt work right)
6) Name you wish to assign
7) Scroll down to “this device uses Sip Technology”
a. Secret field input a password we used the ext # for ease of set up
8) Voicemail?
9) Submit
10) Apply
11) On the right side click the new ext you just created
12) Scroll down to this devices use sip technology
a. In the permit field input the ip scope of your phones (IE 10.xxx.xxx.x/24)
13) Scroll to bottom hit submit
14) Apply
On the phone
15) Default the phone by holding 7+8 on boot
a. Select 2 default phone
b. Select 1 to save changes
c. Any button to apply
16) Note the ip address while the phone is booting
17) Cycle the power on the phone and hold down 1+2 to put the phone into SIP mode
18) Open a browser and goto the ip address followed by :8080 (10.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080)
19) Log into the phone’s web ui
a. Username: IPT
b. Password: iptpassw
20) Click SIP on the left
a. Phone/Extension/Name: input the extension number
b. Display Name: input the users name
c. Proxy server: ip address of your asterisk box
d. Registrar Server IP Address: the ip address of your asterisk box
e. Hit update
f. Hit reset
21) At this point your phone should say “Registration Refused”
22) Here is where it gets a little werid
a. Click Authentication
i. Authentication
1. Current password: iptpassw
2. New password: iptpassw (you have to input this otherwise you will change the password to blank)
3. Confirm password: iptpassw
ii. SIP authentication
1. Authentication Name: extension number
2. Current SIP Authentication Password: leave blank
3. New SIP Authentication password: extension number
4. Confirm SIP Authentication password: extension number
23) Reboot the phone and it should come up the extension and name of user

I hope those that have these phones find it useful, good luck
